This is one the keys to success as a health coach and really any business today.
When COVID happened, everything changed. So many people lost their jobs and then sought other options. Online business owners pivoted. The online space blew up.
That means everything is more saturated.
With that change you need to be more clear on what you do and who you do it for.
Let’s talk about what a niche actually is.
What’s a niche?
According to google a niche is “a specialized segment of the market for a particular kind of product or service.“
Or you may have heard “the riches are in the niches“.
You know why?
Because when you specialize in a way your ideal client feels like you’re speaking to them, they will want to hire you faster.
“Butttt Ashleyyyyy
I don’t want to limit myself”
I understand the fear, I really really do!
That’s why I was just a branding and web designer when I started. But now I work with health and wellness professionals and here’s the benefits list:
- I work with the same people so I easily systemized my process
- I know exactly who I am speaking to when marketing
- I can tell you their specific needs in their business
- I can show the results of my work within the industry
- I make more money
Niching down didn’t limit me. I still take clients who aren’t health professionals. I’ve seen more growth.
What are Health Coach Niches?
A health coach niche is a dance between all the unique aspects of you!
It’s what you help do, who you work with and the result you bring.
Let’s answer a few questions to get you closer down to niching.
What’s your specialty?
Gut health? Healing intolerances? Hormone balancing? Weight Loss? Inflammation healing? General healthier options?
You can serve several of these issues but knowing where you know the most and where you can lead a client to the most success should be your specialty.
What’s your why?
Why did you want to become a health and wellness coach in the first place? Was it health issues you have run into? or a family member? Is it a passion for healthy living? Did you see a need in the industry?
Knowing your why is important to cling to when you are struggling but it’s also beneficial to share it with your clients! It can build a deeper connection with them!
Who do you want to work with?
The answer to this question also helps find your niche.
Let’s say you want to work with women who are struggling with their physical health but their crazy life means they don’t have countless hours to work on learning what to do.
Or you want to work with college students who are showing symptoms of an unhealthy gut.
Describe your ideal client and what their specific problems are.
What’s your method?
Not everyone has a unique method but if you have developed a program or method that helps show your specialty too.
How to Communicate your Niche
This is my favorite place to start with my clients.
How can you tell someone who you are and what you do in 1 single sentence.
This sentence is usually what I use on the very top of the homepage so when someone gets to your website they know exactly who you are and what you do.
Do you already have that statement developed? DM me on Instagram! I’d love to hear it!
If not let’s talk about it!
Think about answering the questions:
- Who am I?
- Who do I help?
- How do I change their life?
Here’s mine:
I am a branding and web designer who helps health coaches build their online presence and make an impact.
I answer all the questions around my business and could tell anyone what I do quickly!
Now that you narrowed down your business by niching down you have to market your business! That’s where the magic happens and you connect with your ideal clients!
Still feeling stuck? Go to my contact page and send me a message. I’d love to connect with you and help!
